Tenjin Chikagai underground mall

600 meters and 150+ shops beneath Tenjin—European-style arcades, udon stops, and stained glass when it rains.
Beneath Tenjin lies Tenjin Chikagai: more than 600 meters of shops with stone paths and soft lighting that feel closer to a European promenade than a typical mall. It links major street retail to subway exits—ideal in rain or heat.
Expect Jill by Jill Stuart, Calvin Klein, and local boutiques alongside Japanese sundries. Refuel on Fukuoka udon or soba at spots like Kabeya, or dashi chazuke and meat udon concepts; cafés cover matcha sweets and mochi.
Look for the Tenchika Museum and Milan-made stained-glass installations—shopping with a museum detour.
Most shops 10:00 AM–8:00 PM; restaurants may run later. Enter from Tenjin Subway Station and multiple street entrances. Free Wi-Fi is available; carry some yen even though cards are common.
From LOF HOTEL TENJIN SOUTH (1-2-13 Imaizumi): walk roughly 600 m / 8–10 minutes north into central Tenjin and drop into any Chikagai entrance. Taxi about 5 minutes, ¥600–¥800.
